Flight & Balance Kit – Beavers
Take Beavers on an adventure into science, flight, and fun! This kit combines two hands-on activities: the magical “balance bird” that seems to defy gravity, and a paper aeroplane project where Beavers fold, test, and race their own planes. It’s a great way to explore balance, forces, and aerodynamics through play.

Session Time
Around 45–60 minutes (20 minutes for balance bird, 30–40 minutes for paper aeroplanes, with time for flying games).

Extra Equipment Needed

• Pens or paints if Beavers want to decorate their balance birds

• A large open space (indoors or outdoors) for testing paper aeroplanes

Leader Notes
This kit is designed for Beavers aged 6–8. The balance bird is quick to assemble and gives a fun, magical moment to start the session. Paper aeroplanes add excitement and variety — leaders can run games like “longest flight” or “most accurate landing.” A perfect combination of science and play that keeps Beavers engaged while linking directly to badgework.

Group Sizing
One kit per Beaver is recommended, but aeroplane sheets can be shared if needed. Bulk packs available for groups of 10.
